Lots of people care about politics, but most in this country think they have better things to do with their time than worry about what their elected leaders are doing. After all, how are Americans supposed to get excited about politics when all they have is C-SPAN, the best non-prescription sleep aid on the market? We do have political pundits on CNN and other outlets, but we receive information in filtered soundbites washed out by glitzy graphics and animations. And who can really get pumped up listening to Wolf Blitzer or Larry King for hours on end?

We learned Thursday that one of the great musical talents in history passed away. In case you’ve been MIA like Mark Sanford, the pop megastar suffered a heart attack and died at the tender age of fifty. Who knows what the fallout from his passing will be, but one thing is certain: Michael Jackson has touched all of our lives. (more…)

I’ll bet you didn’t know the Declaration of Independence was written on hemp paper. Nor did you know the first American paper mill (established by Benjamin Franklin) exclusively produced hemp paper. Our nation began with an acceptance of industrial hemp, an agricultural staple to the economy. Great leaders from George Washington to Thomas Jefferson cultivated large hemp crops to sell for profit.
