Creative Recreation

I’m not really knowledgeable about the fashion industry or what styles are in right now (I’m told retro is hot, but you already knew that). I couldn’t tell you the name of the top designer from Fashion week in Paris. But I do know my kicks (shoes) from the latest Nike SB’s and the newest ”Supra” and that Nike’s are the world champions of “hip.” But then Creative Recreation emerged in the fashion world and instantly took the underground scene by storm. You could argue Creative Recreation is the Impressionist of our generation, fighting the evil conformity of the Academy in Paris. (more…)

Manny Ramirez

I woke up this morning and did my usual routine beginning with ESPN’s First Take, a morning talk show about sports. Imagine my surprise when I learned that Manny Ramirez of the Los Angeles Dodgers got busted for using performance-enhancing drugs. Even though he’s no longer with my favorite team (Boston Red Sox) I felt bad for the guy and started wondering why we live in an age with such intense pressure to enhance our physiques. (more…)
